This study aims to identify the impact of applying the rules of governance on professional development from the point of view of faculty members at King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah. To achieve this goal, the researcher used the descriptive and analytical approach, in which a questionnaire was used as a study tool to collect data where the study community consists of all faculty members at King Abdulaziz University, which consists of (6096) members, and Due to the large size of the community, a simple random sample was chosen, where the questionnaire was distributed to all faculty members via e-mail. Consequently, the number of responses obtained by the researcher was (366), all of which were valid for the study, because the answer to all items of the study was compulsory. The study reached many results, the most important of which were the presence of the application of the rules of governance with a medium degree and the application of professional development with a high degree. The study also reached many recommendations, the most important of which are: There should be better transparency when applying the rules and regulations at the university, and there should be continuous follow-up to the needs of faculty members.
