Abstract : Soil and its derivatives constitute an important element in human life. From soil the first human was created, Allah made soil a cleanser for the Ummah, and it has been proven effective in cleaning and medicine, early humans used it in construction and pottery, and still does. The purpose of this study is to highlight this kind of earth sciences which is questioned by some atheists. They claim these sciences are not compatible with modern science. The study also highlights areas of scientific miracles in holy Quran and Sunnah related to the subject of study. There is 57 verses and 181 hadiths all discuss and explain the topic. The methodology of the study includes accumulating all the meanings of dust, soil and their derivatives, citing the linguistic definitions, citing geographic meanings, citing synonyms for each term and its derivatives, accumulating verses and hadiths that discuss the topic, studying the meanings of obscure words within them, generally explaining these verses and hadiths, highlighting the benefits of these hadiths, explaining the objective study related to the principle of the study, and if exists, explaining the scientific miracles. The plan of the study is as follows: `There are three main chapters the first of which contains three sections. The first section looks at the definitions of dust, soil and derivatives, the second looks at the synonyms of these terms and what are excluded and has many areas, and the third section looks at words that are not included in the first two sections yet serve the same purpose. The second chapter contains all verses in the Quran that discuss soil, dust and their derivatives and contains 8 sections. The first includes the aforementioned verses, the second looks at verses that related dust, soil and derivatives to the creation of man, the third looks at dust, soil and derivatives in the light of prophets’ tales and miracles as well as stories of holy men, the fourth includes verses that related dust, soil and derivatives in relation to disbelieving nations and their messengers as a punishment, the fifth looks at dust, soil and derivatives and the pre-Islamic rituals as well as the virtues of Islam, the sixth looks at dust, soil and derivatives and Tayammum (ablution), the seventh looks at protection from fire, the eighth looks at soil, sand and derivatives and their relation to disbelievers’ attitude from the Day of Judgment and reincarnation, their punishment in the Day of Judgment, the horrors of that day as well as describing the comforts of paradise. The third chapter contains all the hadiths related to dust, soil and derivatives and contains 22 sections. The first looks at hadiths related to creed, the second looks at hadiths related to the creation of Adam and his descendants, the third looks at hadiths in cleansing, the fourth looks at hadiths and prayers, the fifth looks at hadiths in Zakat, the sixth looks at hadiths about fasting, the seventh looks at hadiths in Hajj (pilgrimage), the eighth looks at hadiths in dealings, The ninth looks at hadiths in domestic cases, the tenth looks at hadiths of tales, the eleventh looks at hadiths in Jihad, the twelfth looks at hadiths in military expeditions, the thirteenth looks at hadiths discussing penalties, crimes, blood money, rulings, judgements and hunting. The fourteenth includes hadiths related to food and beverages, the fifteenth includes hadiths related to the virtues of prophets, the sixteenth looks at hadiths related to benefits, the seventeenth looks at hadiths related to the signs of time, the eighteenth looks at hadiths related to hell and paradise, the nineteenth looks at hadiths related to lawful charms, medicine and funerals, the twentieth looks at hadiths related to morals, the twenty first looks at hadiths related to alraqaeq (Expressions that shows tenderness toward others), and finally, the twenty second section looks at hadiths related to dreams and interpretations. The study reached the following findings: - The abundance of terms related to dust, soil and derivatives show their significance. - The holy Quran cited the stages of Adam’s creation from soil which is a bright evidence of the God’s uniqueness. - That soil and its derivatives has the evidence to prove the Day of Judgement denied by some. - That soil is an effective agent in cleansing, disinfecting and medicine. - That both Quran and Sunnah have attributed many facts to soil which has been scientifically proven 1400 years later using modern science. - That soil contains many scientific indications related to miracles. - That modern civilization right now relies heavily of materials extracted from soil.
