Abstract : The objective of the research is to identify the most important features of Osman art to preserve it from extinction, to study the aesthetic and artistic values of the Islamic motifs through Osman era as a source of innovation for the design of decorative units suitable for carpets also linking the art of the Osman era and modern techniques for the production of contemporary decorative units and benefit from its in-carpet design. by using computer programs with a survey of opinions for specialists and producers. The research follows the analytical descriptive method with an applied study of the description of Osman art, and analysis application of decorative designs characterized by the originality and contemporary for carpets. The research tools consisted of a questionnaire for specialists (n=24) in the field of clothing, textiles and fashion design inside and outside the university, as well as producers (n=10) in the field of carpet industry to evaluate the twelve designs produced by the researcher, which on Plush Canvas. The results of the study showed that there are significant differences between the designs of ( the12 carpets) executed by the researcher in terms of achieving the aesthetic and the functional side according to the opinions of specialists at the level of (0,05) in favor of (the 9 design), and There are significant differences between the designs of (the12 carpets) implemented by the researcher in terms of achieving the functional side according to the views of the producers at the level of (0,05) in favor of (the 9 design.( The researcher recommended the need for inspiration from the arts of other historical ages that deal with using modern techniques in design and implementation, conducting more studies and researches dealing with carpet design, training and teaching students on how to use modern techniques because of its great importance in developing their design ideas in carpet design and service work.
